Delta Air Lines is facing scrutiny from federal officials and passengers after a series of flight cancellations and delays that have left thousands stranded and waiting for their luggage.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has launched an investigation into Delta's operations, following reports of ongoing disruptions and customer service issues.
The airline has cited a computer update problem as the cause of the cancellations, which affected more than 5,000 flights worldwide over the weekend. Passengers reported waiting hours for assistance and finding their luggage lost or delayed.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian has apologized for the disruptions and said the airline is working to address the issues. He has also announced additional measures to improve customer service.
